The Missoula PaddleHeads were back at it on Thursday afternoon for another intersquad exhibition on a blustery afternoon at Allegiance Field. The PaddleHeads have inched a little closer toward its final roster in the last 3 days seeing 4 players released from the original list brought into camp. That means the number of players fighting for roster positions is down to 33. Manager Michael Schlact will have decisions to make in the coming days needing to whittle that number down to 25 before Opening Day.
Along with the excitement of the exhibition, the PaddleHeads also welcomed season ticket holders, and other supporters to the ballpark for an appreciation dinner with players and other front office staff. To add to the fun the PaddleHeads also had a special media presence on hand on site adding to the excitement.
ESPN Missoula's daily sports talk radio show Nuanez Now was on site Thursday at Allegiance Field for a live broadcast from the ballpark. While on hand, Colter Nuanez was joined by none other than PaddleHeads Insider Geoff Safford on the air as the duo got folks ready for the upcoming PBL season. Safford and Schlact also then sat down for a live interview on the show to take a peak into how things have been going so far in camp. The PaddleHeads will continue Spring Training with a morning workout on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. local time. The team will then hold workouts on Saturday and Sunday this weekend before making final roster decisions on Sunday evening. Missoula opens its season next Tuesday in the first game of a 3 game set with the Oakland Ballers. First pitch from the Bay Area is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Pacific Time.
